Executive Summary

Altum Black, a leader in revenue management, supply chain optimization, and pricing analytics for B2B and B2C market participants, sought to enhance its service offerings with a robust AWS Based Business Intelligence Platform. Therefore, the primary goal was to develop a solution that integrates data from multiple sources, processes it efficiently, and presents actionable insights through customizable dashboards. Given the substantial volume of data, the platform needed to be both scalable and cost-effective.

To meet these requirements, DataPulse Consulting designed and implemented a cloud-based platform leveraging AWS services. This solution integrates data from various sources, processes it with AWS Glue, and stores it in AWS Redshift for detailed analysis. As a result, Altum Black’s customers can access these insights through customizable dashboards, enabling them to make data-driven decisions swiftly and confidently.

Key Results

  • Timely Insights: The AWS Based Business Intelligence Platform delivers real-time insights that lead to a 15% increase in profit margins for Altum Black’s customers.

  • Operational Efficiency: Moreover, optimized supply chain operations have cut lead times by 20% and improved inventory turnover.

  • Cost Optimization: Additionally, the platform architecture minimizes unnecessary data processing and storage expenses. This approach allows Altum Black to provide a powerful, cost-efficient solution.

  • Scalability: Furthermore, the design supports seamless scaling, ensuring it can handle growing data volumes as Altum Black’s customer base expands.

Platform Architecture Overview

Data Integration:
To begin with, we utilized Airbyte for data extraction, deploying it on AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service). Consequently, the platform seamlessly integrates data from various sources, including Shopify, Facebook, Google Ads, and Google Analytics, providing a unified view for Altum Black’s customers.

Data Storage:
Next, we stored data in AWS S3 with a tiered storage strategy. By aligning storage tiers with data relevance and update frequency, this approach ensures cost efficiency while maintaining quick access to critical data.

Data Processing:
We then employed AWS Glue for ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) operations, enabling efficient transformation and loading of data into AWS Redshift. As a result, optimized query structures and carefully scheduled ETL jobs significantly reduced unnecessary data processing and minimized operational costs.

Data Analysis:
Once processed, we stored data in AWS Redshift, thereby enabling comprehensive analysis across multiple business domains such as revenue management, supply chain optimization, and pricing analytics. This structure helps Altum Black’s customers extract actionable insights from their data.

Dashboarding:
Finally, the platform visualizes processed data through a custom-built web application. Altum Black’s customers benefit from interactive, customizable dashboards that empower them to monitor KPIs like revenue trends, supply chain performance, and pricing strategies. Consequently, this capability enables faster and more informed decision-making.
